My friend sent me an email:
Remarkably Cardinal Rigali had lunch with Pope Francis the day after his election. Cardinal asked him for a blessing for the Diocese of Knoxville. Attached is a photo of it. Quite possibly the very first written blessing of his papacy. Simple and simply signed as Francis. Official documents are to be signed in Latin, but he used the language of whom the blessing was bestowed. This was done on March 15 before he even had his seal.
How cool is that?
And how cool is Cardinal Rigali for remembering his home while lunching with the Pope?
