Papal Predictions: Raymond Cardinal Burke

I have been reading the various papal pundits ponder papability, which I do not think much of, as I would rather give the Holy Spirit the chance to decided.  Okay, that and I am not going to trust any prediction coming from CNN.

But I read this blog post with interest as to the chances of Raymond Cardinal Burke.  Its author, Taylor Marshall, gives ten thought-out reasons - check them out!

1. Burke is an open advocate for using canon law in defense of the sacraments and God's honor

2. Burke thinks seriously.

3. His Eminence celebrates and promotes the Latin Mass and a reverent Novus Ordo.   (no Barney masses!)

4. ...which leads to the SSPX. As long as Benedict XVI is alive, it will be necessary for the next Pope to bring resolution to this traditionalist soap-opera.

5. Speaking of the Latin Mass, Cardinal Burke has traditional liturgical flare (for example, he wears the cappa magna without blinking an eye).  (mo' man lace!)

6. Burke will help the cardinals and bishops do what they know they need to do: discipline dissenting Catholic politicians.

7. Cardinal Burke speaks the minimum languages necessary for a Supreme Pontiff: English, French, Latin and Italian.  (Spanish will be easy for him to pick up)

8. Cardinal Burke is the perfect age: 64.

9. He is the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.

10. Most importantly, Cardinal Burke is extremely Marian.

And, a bonus . . .

{N]obody suspects Cardinal Burke to be elected.

Your thoughts?  I would be happy to see this.  I like the "St. Louis" connection as I admire men from there (Dolan, Rigali, Stika).

I dig the "cappa magna" - that could be the next "big thing."

Praying for His Eminence! (Dolan- what a disgrace to the Church)

Dolan is not a disgrace...will you submit in obedience were he to be elected?

I love the idea of Cardinal Burke...I do not realistically EXPECT any American to be elected for a very long time, though I would love to be wrong.

There's a widespread misconception that Cardinal Burke doesn't speak Spanish. I have no clue why that is because he does -- I've heard him do it on many occasions.

But no, Cardinal Burke NOT for pope. I know him well, he doesn't want it and it would be way too much for him.
