When the Truth is unacceptable . . .

Some people are foolish.

"As a Catholic . . ."  In name only, most likely, and frankly, you are looking for a story that isn't there.  I know what you want, Morgan - you want something that would allow you to make a huge inference and say our Holy Father is resigning so as to avoid exposure of some sex scandal.

Here are the fact:  he is an 85-year-old man who holds one of the most powerful positions in the world.  If you believe that he is some evil mastermind out to see gays executed and rip birth control from the hands of the women of the world, then any scandal regarding him would be covered up, no?

Because media vultures like Piers Morgan - who thinks that the Sacrament of Baptism gives him the right to DEMAND answers from the Vatican - cannot comprehend (or want to) that we have a very erudite and humble man who loves his Church with all his heart, and to protect Her, will resign due to his lack of capacity to ensure Her safety, and does so for Her own good, trusting in his Lord's words that the gates of Hell shall not prevail against Her.

I am disgusted by speculation mixed in with calumny.

"Pope John Paul II remained in office so that he might show us how to suffer and how to die. Pope Benedict XVI is leaving the Papal office so that he might show us how to live in humble honesty." - Sr. Mary Theresa, Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.

And . . . pedophilia is not funny.  Whether you want to use it to mock the Pope or anyone else, it is not funny.  I lost someone to it, along with any tolerance to jokes made about it.

I am not Catholic, I am Orthodox, but I appreciate your comments on the Pope leaving his position. It is a hard thing for him to do, I'm sure and I will pray for him and the Catholic church as a new leader is picked.
