. . . and it takes a brave person to say it.
Thank God for people such as The Crescat.
My first waking thought hit me like a sledge hammer and I was instantly transported back ten years. I was standing alone in a sterile room wearing a hospital gown. In my hand was the sheet that I had pulled back off the portable suction machine that sat in the corner. Memories I thought I had drown bubbled up despite mentally wrestling with myself for years to un-see them.
I don’t know what God means to do with me and my horrible memories but whatever it is at least He timed it perfectly so that I have prayers to help me cope. I swear, if it had not been for that email I might have been swallowed whole by despair. If you are currently participating in the nine days of prayer and happened to pray today for post-abortive women to find healing I want to extend my thanks to you. Your prayers were felt and very much needed.
Dear Catholic Church, her members and leaders, thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for not giving up on us. And if you are post-abortive and can feel the tides of despair rising please please please seek out the folks at Project Rachel. Right now. And lastly, please let us never stop praying for each other.
Warning - before you read the posting above, The Crescat does not sugar coat anything. Nor should she. I do not think people realize the extent of the damage an abortion causes, both to the child and the mother. The guilt, the memories - where are the proud pro-abortion celebrities and politicians when a woman sits alone in the night thinking about what she has done and hating herself for it?
And, not mentioned in the article . . . what about the men? The fathers. Do you think they are not damaged by abortion? You know, we hear a lot about "fair share" when it comes to taxes and money. Yet, no one champions the fathers and no one calls it unfair that the law allows a man no control over the fate of his unborn offspring. While the mother is the nurturer, the father is the protector - and abortion makes him powerless and impotent.
This week marks the "fetus fest" as so many pro-aborts like to say mockingly. Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the US Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, when abortion was made legal in the United States. Those in support of abortion claimed it would make abortion "safe, legal, and rare."
"Abortion increases the likelihood of suicide," is the finding of research in the United States, Britain and Finland.
A 1997 study in Finland - funded by the government, completely secular, and based on medical records - shows that there is a six-fold increase in death by suicide by post-abortive women.

Since 1973, over 50 million abortions have been performed. That beats even Hitler's record. Oh, and 13 million have been Black children. Now, that's genocide. Please note that you will not find a Planned Parenthood in upscale communities.
Oh, speaking of Planned Parenthood, its 2011-2012 report that was just released shows that it performed 333,964 abortions and received $542 million in money . . . from the federal government. Our tax dollars at work.
So excuse us "fetus fetishists" if we go a little crazy and do something like have peaceful protests this week across the nation, with the largest taking place this Friday in Washington DC. Half a million are expected to attend.
And if you are a post-abortive woman having issues, even if you are not specifically named, the prayers being lifted up are for you. And they are heard. You are not alone.
