Oh, I am bound to catch flack for this.

My youngest blue Weimaraner, Maccabee, has a long and lean body that he likes to stretch and often lies on his back, his underside open to the world. As you can tell, he ain't fixed. I snapped this with my iPhone and jokingly sent it to a friend, with the caption "Weimaraner Porn."

However, as I used some iPhone apps to edit it, it began to remind me of photographs taken by EJ Bellocq of a now-gone red light district of New Orleans called Storyville. Taken in 1914 but discovered years later, these photographs showed the working girls of the district, with some posing in an erotic fashion - some of which had their faces scratched out from the photographs. It is these poses, and the fact that Mac's face is obscured in the photo above, that conjured the connection in my mind.

No, I am not promoting animal porn, if such a thing exists.
