Got Ink?

My buddy, the lovely Abby, kindly made the loan of her 100mm lens for me to check out, to see if I wanted one for macro and portrait work.  After some lunch, I suggested we head over to the Holiday Inn by World's Fair Park in Knoxville for an impromptu photowalk during a tattoo and piercing convention being held there.

Good times - ran into my friend April, artist extraordinaire and Renaissance woman; learned Tommy's story about how he began getting tattoos when his son died during military service and how seeing how people judged him based on his tattoos made him realize he was "one of those assholes" and changed his ways; discussed chibi design with an artist; met a woman who said her mission in promoting tattoo art was that when she walked into a place and saw tattoos, each one would be fabulous; had a long talk with another photog, Ray, who specialized in retro studio shots and does some great work; discussed babies with one model; and all in all had a good time, shooting and . . . well, you are not going to believe this, but talking with people.

I know!  Because I am so reserved!
