I was led to the secret cache of . . . frogs.

I have a photographer friend, Bob Howdeshell, who is a nature shooter extraordinaire.  He was kind enough to lead me and another photog buddy this evening to an area of Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where there is an abundance of green tree frogs.  I was sworn to secrecy thereafter, not to reveal this spot, lest less ethical photographers take advantage of it.

These were taken with a 50mm.  I am inspired to see if I can find a cheap macro lens.  I don't shoot macro that often, but it would be nice to have a proper one.

It is lovely to have friends like this in Tennessee.  As we were wandering about in the woods, I thought how lucky I am for God to have led me here, away from the artifice that vexed me in Southern California.

To see other frog and friends photographs, go here.

If you go to Digital Photography School, there was just a series about shooting macro that included cheaper options.
