More proof that Obama is "in touch" with the common folk:
The Obama campaign has a brand new venture to raise campaign cash from theeir wealthier supporters - teaming up with fashion designers to sell ObamaWear at high end prices.
Yes, you too can contribute to the Obama campaign by purchasing a spiffy Tony Burch bag for $75,a Dianne von Furstenberg Bag for $85, a Rachel Roy Tank Top for $55,or a Thakoon Dog Leash and Collar for the politically aware pooch at a mere $45, with a Marc Jacobs Dog Tee for another measly 40 smackers.Or if you prefer, one for your human self at just 5 bones more.
A dog tee? I'm not sure that is what Obama has in mind when he asks you to dress your dog for dinner.

| For $95, you can get this hoodie whose message is anything but. Sounds more like the opening prayer at a Scientology convention. |
This is all part of "Runway to Win", a collectivist effort by fashionistas to re-elect Barack Obama. I went to the website and can't decide - $40 for "Bo Blue" nail polish? Or $50 for a 2-1/2" "fine art pin." You know, when a regular old campaign button just isn't enough.
I guess the real question is . . . win or lose in November, who wants to wear this stuff after Obama leaves office? Or do they think he's staying for good as President-for-Life?

I'm an expat, and as such, don't give a tinker's damn about American politics, but I always have time for the divine Bowie!
Thanks for the blast from the past!
