I Got Dive Bombed

I took this picture outside - a few seconds later Momma and Poppa were dive bombing me to stay away from their babies, so the rest of the pictures were shot from inside my kitchen, out the window.

The babies are rapidly growing (good - as soon as they leave the nest, I'm getting the house power-washed).  Feathers have replaced fuzz, and that nest is looking more and more like a tight squeeze.

Momma and Poppa were not in an accommodating mood today.  They became quite upset at me approaching the nest and started swooping towards me.  I got the hint and retreated back to the kitchen, where I can watch them from the window.

After you power wash, you can place some moth balls around the fan so no other birds will build there.

FYI, you might wait on that power washing. We're in Texas and have barn swallows every year. We're warm enough (I'm guessing TN is too) that they have 2 or 3 "batches" of babies. We're forever fighting the poop too; it's on our front porch. But the babies are too much fun to make them stop.
