For God and Country: going to a rodeo
On Friday night, I attended my first rodeo. Held at Loudon Municipal Park in Loudon, TN, it was to help the local 4-H, o it was a worthwhile cause. Besides, I had never been to a rodeo.
It damned near killed me. As it so happens, my airways can only take limited amounts of horse and cattle before they start closing up in an allergic reaction and my breathing becomes labored. And so I labored, hoping to make it at least until they did the bull riding. I could not alas.
One thing I like about a rodeo, at least on held in East Tennessee - God is here tonight. The opening featured an invocation and the singing of the national anthem. It was stressed again, through God all things are possible.
Even staying on an enraged bronco for the requisite 8 seconds.

Dang. We live three miles from Loudon Parks and Rec. You could have come over for a beer.
Dang - and I would have, Toni!
