Don't Be Deceived, Santa Ana

I hate this.

I hate seeing Scientology's flag flying in Santa Ana, my former hometown.  Don't be deceived, Santaneros - this organization is not a religion.  It is a dangerous cult.  Very dangerous - Miscavige lied and people died.

Every Palm Sunday, St. Joseph Church has a public procession called the Blessing of the Streets.  Ministers from the other downtown churches participate by marching for peace.  I sincerely hope that if any one from this "church" requests to participate and march with our clergy and our people - that they are politely turned away. There is only so far one should go in the name of "ecumenism."

Evil, evil, evil.

"politely" .. really, is that necessary?

No need to not show some class, Junior. But I tell you what - if I heard that any priest there was allowing the Scientologists' clergy to participate in the same capacity as the other clergy, I might have to show up with my protest against both the Scientologists AND the priest allowing it.

I don't think that would happen. I think Fr. John Moneypenny (a former friend, alas) would not allow it and their new pastro, Fr. Ed Becker, is another one whom I think say no. But - you never know what the Bishop might say if they went knocking at his door. Unfortunately, there are tepid souls in the Diocese when it comes to trying to avoid confrontation.
