The 5 Things That Should Never Be in Your Photography Portfolio

Catching up on past episodes of The Grid with Scott Kelby (seen Wednesdays at 4:00 PM EDT on Kelby TV, an Internet channel).  I liked his list of Five Things That Should Never Be in Your Photography Portfolio, likening these things to designing graphics using Comic Sans fonts:

1.  Cats
2.  Homeless People
3.  Dead trees and/or tree stumps
4.  Anything or anyone on railroad tracks
5.  Flowers

Post them on Facebook, just don't put them in your professional portfolio.  I have to agree,

Just out of curiosity, why not flowers? What if they are macro/abstract shots?

Because they are common. But he also said an exception can be made with the caveat that any flower shots be OUTSTANDING. Now, I do not say that facetiously, but let's face it, the only way you will get that is with macro, IMO. Otherwise . . . Meh, it's a pretty flower.

Cleavage is still O.K., right?

Only in the front, Aaron.
