What am I giving up for Lent . . .?

That's it.

I'm giving up.

I'm letting go.

I'm cleaning house.

I'm moving on.

Turn the page . . . because the next chapter is going to be better than the previous one.

I'm hanging up my cape.  I can't save the world.  The world has to want to save itself.  And only He can do it.

So . . . in more practical terms . . .

1.  Improve my prayer life by praying a portion of the Divine Office each day.

2.  Eating out once a week.  Cooking more.  Using the money saved to give to charity.

3.  Cussing less, damn it.

4.  Getting strong - physically, mentally, and spiritually.  Because I think the Church is going to need Her soldiers.  I am old school - I joke and say I got "jumped in" at Confirmation, when Bishop Ahern delivered a smart *smack* across my cheek, making me a Solider of Christ.  We need to do that again, so that the Church Militant can live up to the name.

Great post!! I am doing a personal change this year by incorporating more water into my life and less soda. The last two years I have given up soda and I was successful, this year I am making a personal change. Great post again!!
