From this morning's Los Angeles Times . . .
Unions return to Democratic fold for 2012 election
Like they ever left!
Actually, the LA Times provides comedy gold with this:
Last May, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka stood a few blocks from the White House and issued a stern warning: Union members could not be counted on as the Democrats' foot soldiers anymore.
"If leaders aren't blocking the wrecking ball and advancing working families' interests, then working people will not support them," he said in a speech at the National Press Club.
Flash forward to today: Labor appears squarely back in the Democrats' corner for the 2012 election — pushed there in large part by Republican attacks on collective bargaining rights for public employees.
You know, putting aside a single remark from Richard Trumka, if there was ever a time when the unions were serious about withdrawing their support of the Dems . . . that would have been big news.
But you did not hear about it. Because it never happened.
Instead, you heard Teamster leader Jimmy Hoffa threaten to "take these sons of bitches out," directing his words towards the Tea Party.
The LA Times is just setting up for a defeat of the GOP in November, hoping to opin then that thi was their election "to lose" because, after all, they turned their back on the unions . . . and they are doing this to remind union members to vote Democrat.
You know, they don't even try to hide the bias anymore . . .
