There were more photos, it turned out — 400 more, traced to an apartment in nearby Torrance, then to a bustling schoolhouse in South Los Angeles. There, officials alleged Tuesday, a veteran third-grade teacher sought sexual gratification by spoon-feeding his semen to his students.

"This occurred in his regular classroom with his students," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Scott. "It wasn't done in secrecy. The only secret was what the 'game' was really about."

Miramonte has struggled academically and is one of the last campuses in the school district to operate year-round because of overcrowding.

So, how many students were in his classroom?  20?  30?  40?

Even at 20, how is it that a teacher can find the time to blindfold and gag the students during school hours and engage in this depravity - and no one noticed?  These were not students that he kept behind after class, this was not done in a janitorial closet or some other hidden recess - this was done during classroom hours in the class.

The school administration has questions to answer.

And the kicker is that the story describes him as an "average" teacher.  Well, yes - the students were too busy being his play toys than having the time for actual instruction.  But no one observed, no one questioned, hey, don't want to get the school board or the union upset.
