Kudos to the USCCB!

From Portland, Maine to San Diego, California–

From Miami, Florida to Seattle, Washington–

This is a simply incredible, unified, universal Catholic witness on this critical issue of religious freedom.

Outstanding!  Now, the work is not over - because frankly, the HHS mandates should have exemptions for private businesses where the owner feels that it is in violation of his or her religion to provide contraceptives and abortion to employees.  An employee has, then, a choice - work for the company or not.  And if they choose not to cover contraceptives, then finance the employee who stays can finance their own private life.

Because, after all, isn't that what the employee wants?  Autonomy?  Rosaries off their overaries and government out of their bedroom?

This is not about the Catholic Bishops saying you cannot fuck around.  They say you shouldn't, because bad things can come from a promiscuous lifestyle, but ultimately the decision as to how you lead your life is your own.  That includes things like sex in a monogamous relationship, sex with multiple partners, one-night stands, hiring prostitutes . . . the world is your oyster!

This is about who picks up the tab.  And forcing people against their conscience to do so.
