It is just chance that the US Supreme Court, who usually issue decisions on cases towards the end of their term in the May/June timeframe, decided Roe v. Wade - the seminal case on abortion - in the cold of the winter? For those in lesser temperate climes, it certainly poses a challenge.
But what is another layer of clothing to wear, to stand outside an abortion clinic and pray that which most displeases Satan, the Rosary? Here are pictures from today's Rosary for Life, held in Tyson Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. We were to be led by our bishop, Bishop Richard Stika; as he was called away to a funeral, instead his mentor, Justin Cardinal Rigali, came to lead us in prayer.
There were the "usual suspects" - women, men, families, children, students, religious . . . all that come together to illustrate the word catholic.
