Last day of 2011 . . . photoshooting in Asheville

Three of my Knoxville friends - Ann, Deb, and Sharon - and I took off on the last day of 2011 for Asheville, NC. Nothing special - we are all photographers and just wanted to stroll about the city and see what could be captured.  The weather was bright and sunny, and the hippies and hipsters were out in dorves.

But look at that little boy above!  He reminds me of the spirit of Puck, from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."  Or maybe he's Peter Pan . . .

Two of our group did not know much about Catholicism and so I explained why St. Lawrence sitting atop his basilica was holding a grate.  He thereafter was referred to as Larry the Grill Guy.
