Crystal Cathedral hearing: Diocese ups its offer to $57.5 million

Diocese officials have been in talks with the Schuller family, assuring them that the legacy of the Crystal Cathedral will be preserved on the site through a library dedicated to Robert H. Schuller and his wife, Arvella.

"We can have the money in your account before the end of business Monday."

The main difference between the two proposals is that Chapman is offering a 15-year leaseback and a buyback option in five years, allowing the ministry and the "Hour of Power" to continue on the campus.  The diocese on the other hand is offering the St. Callistus campus on Lewis Street, which is roughly 10 acres, as an alternate site where the ministry could continue.

No, it isn't.  The main difference is $6 million.

In the end, whoever pays the most will get it..as someone who would rather NOT see the Rog Mahal 2.0...I'd rather the diocese get it...Lord knows what would happen if the other people get it and allow Tod not of God to build a Cathedral.
