On Friday night, to demenstrations took place in downtown Knoxville. One was SlutWalk, which was about protesting that there is never a justification for rape regardless of how a woman might be dressed. Expand that: there is NEVER a justification for rape.
And then there was Occupy Knoxville, a group "in solidarity" with Occupy Wall Street. I have to admit, from the pictures I have seen elsewhere, the Knoxville crowd was a tad more refined. But it was still largely composed of the basic folks: young hipsters, hippies, socialists, anarchists, and marxists, all with the common message that rich people - the 1% - suck and need to have their money removed from them and no corporation is good . . . as they used the products of said corporations to organize and document their revolution. The fellw above is an example; I believe his reference is the Wall Street bankers who committed suicide in the great stock market crash of 1929. Nice.
My pictures of these events can be seen here. I have put them on my Zenfolio account and may be downloaded for a price.
