The Santa Ana City Council has condemned a councilwoman’s comments comparing a downtown property owner to Adolf Hitler but stopped short of calling on her to resign the title of mayor pro tem.
A motion calling on Alvarez to resign her title, which allows her to run council meetings in the mayor’s absence, was tabled after Councilman Vincent F. Sarmiento offered a substitute motion.
That motion condemned the comments and asked the Orange County Human Relations Commission to host a town hall meeting on race relations, which he said was a “proportionate response” to the comments.
Aw, bullshit. Really. I note that the article said nothing about Claudia apologizinf directly to Irv Chase and his family, and she has refused to do because - as she explained - her apology was "out there."
So, for what would likely be a career-ending move for any other politician - like Mayor Dean Grose of Los Alamitos, CA - Claudia gets a pass and more tax dollars are spent on a boondoggle for "race relations."
What are the facts here? A Latina - who represents Ward 5, which is almost exclusively Hispanic, in the City of Santa Ana - and who is mayor pro tem, insults a Jewish commercial landlord by accusing him of "ethnic cleansing" and compares him to Hitler. How many Jews live in Santa Ana? Compared to the number of Hispanics, it is miniscule.
Bet you Claudia doesn't even bother going to the town hall on race relations. Why should she? Her supporters don't trust those damn judios any more than she does . . .
