. . . then join in the arranged "tributes."
Mayor Bloomberg is limiting the number of people who can be at Ground Zero on 9/11 to "just the families". Not invited are the surviving first responders. No clergy allowed. General public stay home.
And what will the families see? Well, it won't be other people - say, fellow New Yorkers, Jersey boys, etc., who alos lived through that day - to give them the message, we still feel your loss and we're here to show you that you and your loved ones are not fogotten. Or anyone, for that matter, who feels moved to be there for the families. After 9/11, then Mayor Giuliani asked New Yorkers to attend the funerals of those who perished, regardless of whether you knew them, just to be there for the families. My mother, of blessed memory, attended ten such funerals before the depression stopped her. Oh well, at least the families will have politicians there to comfort them. Maybe those politicians will adopt some of Obama's "talking points" for 9/11, like "minimizing" references to al-Qaeda, because it has become "incrasingly irrelevant." As too has these 9/11 memorials with such politicization. Oh, please note I say "nine-eleven," even though the State Department wants us to call it "nine-one-one." I wonder if the families will think about the "nine-one-one" calls that comprised their loved ones final moments?
And what else will the families see? A big . . . hole in the ground. Ten years later, all there is to show is a hole in the ground. No new building, soaring skywards, even taller than the Towers, to say, "We shall overcome! We have built again!" No, a hole in the ground, that tells those who cheered the planes, "We have dug our graves." Not to say there isn't construction in the area building up - but it is for a new mosque and Islamic center, just blocks from where one of the worst crimes was perpetrated in the name of Allah.
So, to mark the 10th anniversary . . . I'll go to church. There is a ministry fair that day, and I'll help there. I'll Tivo the documentary on 9/11; not sure how much of it I can watch as it is still hard to relive the images and sounds of that day.
Anytime a plane flies low overhead . . . I still think of 9/11. I don;t need a special occasion to remember because I do almost every day.

Well since no one is here I can cuss. Right? Bloomberg is a fucking bottom feeding walking four legged turd. Oh and I won't be watching the Nu Yoke festivities either.

I'm not "doing" anything for 9/11 either. I don't get the point of the national therapy session, and I really don't want to pick at that wound. I'll go to church too.....

Holy Mass is indeed the best way to commemorate 9/11. Pray for the souls of all those who were murdered that day. And pray for deliverance from the enemies that now govern us.
