God Is in the House

As a stroll through Etsy.com will show you . . . there's a lot of bad art out there.  Especially when it is meant to depict Justin Bieber.

But while out looking for unfinished furniture today, I happened into Bill Cox's Unpainted Furniture of Knoxville.  While that in itself is not remarkable, I noticed some very cool folk art pictures on the walls of the store.  "What's the story?", I asked.

As it turns out, Bill Cox had a younger brother named Greg who jaored in art at UT and never left it, even with stints in the Seabees and a career in law enforcement.  Sadly, Greg Cox died about three months ago from cancer, but when I saw this work, I thought this was one of the best examples of folk art I have ever seen.  I was pleased to be able to purchase it and I will say a prayer for Greg tonight.  I'dike to think when Greg passed, this is what he saw - God waving hi as Greg came home.
