DigiTravel Log: Museum of Appalachia

I attended the Independence Day festivities this year at the Museum of Appalachia, in Norris, TN.  There were a number of Revolutionary War re-enactors, from the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolutionary.  In addition to the anvil shoot, the Sons also read aloud the Declaration of Independence and had a special bell-ringing where children rang a bell as the names of each of the original thirteen colonies was said aloud, along with its respective motto.  Of course, three more states were added . . . simply to bring the list up to the 16th state to join the Union, Tennessee.

Pictures from the festivities may be viewed and downloaded here.

Just wanted to say it was nice to have you back in Blogland. It was a bit dreary without you.
