Coney Island

Coney Island, originally uploaded by Stephanie A. Richer.

I have a set of photos that I did of Coney Island back in July 2008, as I wanted to capture some of it before it got "remodeled" and its seedy nuances erased. I am going to be revisting them over the next few days and posting them here. Most I plan to do in a pseudo-HDR style, as seen here.

Can you tell me how to do the "pseudo-HDR style"? I have Photoshop CS5 but am still pretty clueless about it and continue to do most of my post-processing in Lightroom. Thanks!

And what would a trip to Coney Island be if you didn't ride the Cyclone?

Eddie, I did that day.

Kristen, you can use the HDR toning in CS5 under image adjustments, but I am a big fan of Photomatrix software. I call it "pseudo-HDR" because I am working on only one image, versus real HDR where anywhere from 3 to 7 images shot at different exposures are merged. A great, great website to understand HDR and get a good tutorial is: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/
