Portrait of a Priest

I was looking at one of my favorite photo books by Annie Leibovitz and noticed pictures that she had taken of Susan Sontag's handwritten notes, scribbled on legal pads, for her book, The Volcano Lover. It occurred to me, it was not simply a picture of notes but a protrait of Susan Sontag, capturing who she was, that is, a writer.

Portraits do not need faces.

It occurred to me that I had recently taken a picture that is a portrait without the person's face. In this case, it is a priest friend of mine. I have always admired how long and delicate his fingers are, so I like this shot.

If you think that cool Kasia, you should see the one of the upright Cuisinart Roaster.
