California Primaries

Happy to see Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina heading off for the fight against Jerry "Moonbeam" Bronw and Barbara "I'll Call You Whatever I Want, Bitch" Boxer.
Sad to see John Eastman lose to Steve Cooley, though, in the GOP race for Attorney General.
Sandra Hutchens will remain our sheriff here in the OC, which means I lost my hopes for a concealed weapons permit from Bill Hunt.
But Prop 14 passed and I don't like it. It allows for open primaries, which in itself would be a mess because both parties are going to have to campaign not just for their own candidates but who on the other side they think would be the losing candidate to face. But get this - under Prop 14 only the top two vote-getters in a primary election -- regardless of their political party -- will advance to a November runoff, versus the top of each party going. This is not new to California. We had something like this pass back in 1996, only to have the Supreme Court overturn it. Let's hope that happens again.
Oh, and both Orly Taitz and Steve Rocco lost. I voted for them because I lurve crazies.

Open primaries would be a disaster...
