The 2008 Record in Car Torching Still Stands

Better luck next year, mon ami . . .

Youths burned 1,137 cars across France overnight as New Year's Eve celebrations once again turned violent, the French Interior Ministry said on Friday.

The number of vehicles torched was only 10 short of the record 1,147 burned this time last year, even though the Interior Ministry mobilized 45,000 police during the night -- 10,000 more than 12 months ago.
Now, these "youths" - I am sure they have names like Jean-Claude, Robert, and Marc, non?
Non.
Try Abdul, Achmed, Yassir, and the ever popular, Mohammed.
Steph, I read that article. It did not identify the ethnicity of the youths.
Roll tape . . .

Today in Minnesota the Bishops have designated as Immigration Sunday. I'm all for it - and I think ethnicity should always be pointed out when reporting crimes and profiling should definitely be adopted in the airline screening process - etc.

Those youts sure dress funny. Maybe that's what one wears to a Car-BQ.
