Though "We Built This City (On Rock-n-Roll)" Is Still Bad

The first lines are: “Imagine there’s no heaven/it’s easy if you try.” No, it isn’t, because if there’s no heaven then there’s no hell, and we know that there’s a hell because when this song is playing we’re in it.
For everyone who hates the song "Imagine," this is one of the best criticisms I have read. Yeah, yeah, it's not nice to kick a guy when he's dead, but truly this song is bilge.

Thanks for the link! You know I just never gave the song that much thought.

I thought something was wrong with me. I never liked that song.

Florida has an Imagine License Plate. Even worse.

I hate that song. I'd be happy to kick Lennon if he was alive.

William F. Buckley, Jr. once did a devastating fisk of Imagine. It's in his last collection of columns, Happy Days Were Here Again.

I so hate that song. I thought I was the only person in the world. I get great joy thinking about Lennon now sitting somewhere not too comfortable, regretting every single line in that song!

The not-too-comfortable place you mean is Purgatory, right? Because it's a terrible thing to take pleasure in the idea of someone's damnation.
