China performs about 13 million abortions every year, mostly for single young women who experts say know little about contraception, state media said Thursday in a rare disclosure of sensitive family planning statistics.The China Daily newspaper said the real number of abortions is believed to be even higher since the 13 million accounts for procedures in hospitals but many more are known to be carried out in unregistered rural clinics. Also, about 10 million abortion pills are sold every year in China, the paper said.

The key in that is "know very little about contraception." This is what we need to pray for - their education in preventing unwanted pregnancies. Sadly, this is a global problem.

Staggering indeed. China is a global problem...They are culturally the least caring about humanity as individuals. To them, mankind is so prolific as to be disposable.
Examples of their callous attitude are replete across the whole cultural spectrum, from the poisoned mecury workers, to the poisoned lead battery recyclers, to the genocide by abortion of literally a uncounted generation of children.

While in China to adopt my daughter I was appalled that she had been abandoned in a park. The Rep from the adoption agency told us that had her birth mother not done a home delivery and instead opted to go to the hospital for an over quota birth the baby, my daughter, would have been aborted as she crowned by an injection through the top of her skull. Abortion there is legal up until the time you exit the mother's body.
