I went to Los Angeles today to see what was going on outside the Staples Center.
Suprisingly, the crowds were not as large as expected, much to the unhappiness of the myriad of vendors selling souvenirs. Special kudos to Mark and Tonya Sandis who had the most original one, with their "King of Pop" soda (see above).
Security was amazingly tight, as can be expected - no one was sneaking into the memorial without the coveted ticket and wristband. And several times someone would announce they had an extra one . . . and give it to someone in the crowd. I was told by one woman that scalpers were asking $500 to $1000 for the tickets there.
Still, Los Angeles never disappoints. For more photos, please go to my Flickr account to view the set of photos (as I write this, I am still uploading photos). If you see something you like, please ask my permission before you use it as my photos are copyrighted, but I tend to share nicely if you ask first.
