I am not condoning sexual abuse of minors in any way. However, that does not mean I can't call shenanigans when my bullshit-o-meter gets a hit.
A 29-year-old man is suing the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, alleging he was sexually abused by a priest when he was as an altar boy at St. Norbert Church in the 1990s.The man, who is identified in the lawsuit only as John DC Doe, alleges he was molested from 1990 to 1992 and that the diocese knew about the molestations and did nothing to stop it.The priest is not named in the lawsuit, but the man's attorney, Rebecca Rhoades, identified the priest as Monsignor Sinon Falvey.Falvey served at St. Norbert's from 1976 to 1989. Rhoades said the abuse took place after Falvey retired but continued to live at the parish. Falvey died in 2005.
I want to know, why now? Is it the economy? Because there was a bandwagon a few years ago that resulted in the Diocese of Orange paying out $100 million to settle claims. It's easy accusing the dead guy.
If I am wrong, please give me your proof but please be advised that quoting from the lawsuit is not viable - where is the evidence that supports the lawsuit? Just reciting what the John Doe plaintiff claims is like trying to convert an atheist with Bible verse.
I am curious that the priest was not named in the lawsuit, but named in the press conference. How do you bring a claim for negligence without specific facts? "The Diocese breached its duty by hiding a pedophile but we won't tell you who it is." If I were the judge, I'd sustain a demurrer on that one.

I call BS too...well, I call BS on most of these cases that have happened, but that's another topic
MY bS meter went off the chart too. I know of a case where someone was accused of molesting a girl, and he had been out of the diocese for years when the accuser said it happened -- "oh, it must have been someone else then."
Surrre.
Dead men tell not tales, nor can the defend against them.....
