Thank You, 65 Years Later

I look at pictures like this one and wonder if any of the men in it is my father, who was on Omaha Beach with the Army Rangers on June 6, 1944.
They set the standard for courage. And excellence. And shall remain heroes forever, because their story cannot die.
Dad would usually spend every June 6th in quiet revery. How could he not? That morning, he was just a scared 19-year-old kid. At the end of the day, he had passed through a crucible.
And he did not do it alone. May our prayers keep in mind all of the men who participated in the invasion for the cause of right.
