If I wanted you to call me by any other name, I would have offered that to you. I think it's rude when people don't even ask permission and take all sorts of liberties with your name. This is a real sore spot with me. My name has a lot of "nicknames" which I don't use. I use either my first name or my last name because I row with a lot of other women who share the same first name. Now, please do not ever call me by a nickname again.
This is part of an email exchange between an executive assistant at McBee Strategic who was trying to set up a meeting between some folks and Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.). His office manager is Elizabeth Becton.
Well, this executive assistant made the mistake - innocently - of calling her "Liz" in an email. Ms. Becton replied curtly with "Who is Liz?" The assistant apologized but Becton kept it up for 19 emails, berating this woman for her presumed temerity, and even suggesting that she was "set up" by one of Becton's detractors who knows she will only tolerate being called "Elizabeth."
I want her email, so I can call her Dickwad. Or She-Who-Must-Remove-Pole-From-Arse. If anyone is in this guy's district and knows her email, be a pal and pass it along.

Well....."Babs" Boxer won't tolerate being called "Ma'am". She requires "Senator".....from a Brigadier General, no less.
Poor Lizzie, in such a tizzy....
