Happy Birthday, Dolly Girl!

12 years ago today, my daughter Katherine was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California. My firstborn. Hard back labor, as I recall. But worth every moment.
This picture was taken in August 2001, when Kate was 3. Standing next to her is our late Weimaraner, Ralph, who loved his little mistress.
She's growing up way too damn fast . . .

How sad - you locked her up - at least she had the dog.

Happy Birthday! My oldest just got his learner's permit. Time goes to fast. Also, loved your wall photos on facebook. You are doing beautiful work.

Meant "too fast". Wish I'd learn to proofread.

I just discovered your blog. LOVE IT! I have nine kids, 19 to 4 years of age, and I thought my brains were mush, but I read your blog and I am so happy because I am not an airhead, I think you are funny and bright..... you make me think! Yea for me and you. I am putting you in my favorites and I will be back.

Thanks, Michelle, and everyone is welcome here at the Shirt!

Terry, I do keep my children locked up. You mean, it's not a good idea?

Happy Birthday to the Carmelite Digi spawn! They do grow up too fast--when my kids were little, when I came home they would run up too me, jump on me and kiss and hug me--when they became teens it was, oh, mom.

I shoulda kept them locked up, with the guard dog--don't EVER let her out of the gate!
