I read with interest Fr. Erik's post on why it is good priests don't have children and then realized I knew Arlen and Valda Richtsteig when I lived in Lawton, OK. Their house stood out on the street, having, as it did, all of its windows covered in tin foil. Oh, and they called themselves Former Day Saints, which struck them as very funny, though the rest of us never caught on. Their three boys - Gunther, Kirk, and Thor - singlehandedly ran the AV Club at the local high school. It wasn't until he had established his popular taxidermy business that they told Gunther he was adopted. I don't see how he didn't figure it out in the first place, looking so unlike the rest.
Now that I think about it, maybe I do remember mention of a young cousin in Utah.

You lived in Lawton?
Yah have to feel sorry for my cousins. Their TV only pulls in one station with 24 hr Lost In Space reruns.
Lissa, I was stationed at Ft. Sill back in the day.
Go on, Fr. Erik, tell us about your biyhood summers down on the Arizona Strip . . ,.
