Classy, Pixar . . . Thank You

From the minute Colby saw the previews to the Disney-Pixar movie Up, she was desperate to see it. Colby had been diagnosed with vascular cancer about three years ago, said her mother, Lisa Curtin, and at the beginning of this month it became apparent that she would die soon and was too ill to be moved to a theater to see the film.

After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue.

Colby died about seven hours after seeing the film.
I think Pixar deserves a round of applause for doing this. A great movie with a lot of heart evidently comes from a company with the same.
Colby was 10 years old. A funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Newport Beach.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

That is just heartbreakingly sad.

Sometimes, Hollywood does something right.

This is one of those times.

Pixar is to be ABSOLUTELY commended for such a gesture. I've been trying to figure out some marketing angle, but it sure seems like they just did it because it was the right thing to do.
Regardless of their motivation, I WILL spend the money to see the film in the theater and support their project. And if anyone asks, I will tell them why....
