Priests Gone Wild

An internationally known Catholic priest sometimes called "Father Oprah" has been removed from his posts in Florida after published photos showed him lying down bare-chested in an embrace with a woman on a beach.

The Rev. Alberto Cutie (pronounced koo-tee-AYE) -- who got the nickname "Father Oprah" because of the advice he gives on Spanish-language media -- remains a priest. But he was relieved Tuesday of his duties at St. Francis De Sales Church in Miami Beach, Florida, and at the Radio Paz and Radio Peace networks, said a "deeply saddened" Miami, Florida, Archbishop John C. Favalora.
Hey, I hope he gets his act together, whether that means leaving the priesthood or staying. If he cannot fulfill his vows - and doing so should be his first priority, just as a married person places that with their spouse - then call the game.
Ai, Alberto . . .
"We got a bunch of calls from sobbing women," said Miami archdiocese spokeswoman Mary Ross Agosta.
That may be indicative of the problem. Too much hero worship can go to a guy's head . . . either one.

I don't care how attractive my priest is, he's my PRIEST.

When my priest came to the hospital to see me after my son was born, I felt bad that I was dressed in a hospital gown with unbrushed hair (I'm sure he's seen worse).

I couldn't imagine how awkward it would be to see him on a beach, given the respect I have for the office.

Let's pray for him.
But his apology was not so good in that he apologized to those who may have been hurt, etc.
That implies that if people weren't hurt by it, it's not such a big deal.
He should have apologized for doing something objectively wrong, regardless of what people think about it. Take some responsibility, padre!

Yep - being a Cutie and a celebrity can be very arousing.
