Today, We Are All Mary

At St. James, the candles are gone, the tabernacle empty and the door opened...draped in black.
torches, gone...the pulpits, the tables bare.

The altar is stark and alone and empty, draped in black.

Tonight we will read the St. John Passion by torchlight and pray the Good Friday litany cloaked only in black cassocks, no jewelry, no crosses.

Echoes rejoin with soft tears and torn hearts.

Every reminder of Christ is gone...and we are alone.

Yeah, today, we are all Mary.

Tonight our Pastor spoke at great length about how Mary must have felt watching her son. Now, after watching that powerful video you posted, I am sobbing. What started as tears from this, turned to heart-felt pain; thus the sobbing.

Happy Easter my friend!

I watched this before running out the door for a Good Friday church service last night. It set the tone quite well.
Thank you.
