Thomas Paine Returns

Where do I sign up? I'm getting a tea bag . . .

The word is that Obama found this video to be "disturbing" and actually invited its maker to come and talk to him at the White House - will he emerge alive?

In the meantime:

Thomas Paine, the American political philosopher whose tract "Common Sense" made the case for the 13 colonies breaking with Great Britain in the American Revolution, will get his day in Oregon.

The Senate has voted for Senate Bill 367, which designates Jan. 29 as Thomas Paine Day. Paine was born in England on that date in 1737. The bill moves to the House.

Sen. Brian Boquist, R-Dallas, the bill's sponsor and floor manager, quoted Paine's observation: "That government is best which governs least."

Heard this on the drive into work. Agree with a lot of it, but can't say I agree with getting rid of the electoral college. Saved us from Gore, and the big states (democrap) would ride herd on the little ones. Not a fan of term limits per se, but it wouldn't be a bad idea if they got to serve "X" consecutive terms, then had to sit out...but then where does that leave really good people like Duncan Hunter, who was the House Armed services committee, etc. We need THOSE sorts of people because they actually are competent and know what the hell they are doing. [Duncan, Jr. is now proudly serving in my district as a first termer.]

Oh, and what Zero found "chilling" was the thought that someone might exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. I'd just as soon meet up with the Devil as Zero.
