Update:Officer Hege succumbed to his wounds. May he rest in peace with his comrades.
My heartfelt sympathy goes to the families of the fallen heroes:
Killed Saturday were motorcycle officer Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, and Sgts. Ervin Romans, 43, and Daniel Sakai, 35, both members of the SWAT team. The other motorcycle officer, John Hege, 41, was in grave condition, officials said.
For Officers Dunakin, Romans, and Sakai, eternal rest grant their souls. May Our Lord send His angels to guide them to His loving embrace. For Officer Hege, may the Saints and saints surround him on his hospital bed and pray for his recovery.
For the killer, Lovelle Mixon, may God have mercy on your soul. Already there are scum who would make him out to be the victim (caution: profanity in link).

The Junior Warden at St. James is a retired Adams County Sheriff. He and I discussed this whole situation this morning at the early Mass.
He used to draw "transport" duty for extradited prisoners. Being ex-Air Force security, he loved it...except when he was called upon to transport from Oakland or South Central/Watts.
They were warned never to travel alone.
My heart goes out to the families of the fallen.
Those who died in the service of their community and country are at rest in God's arms. Of that I am certain.

As for G-d showing mercy on the hairballs....not My G-d. I lose my "Love" when it comes to these rabid animals.....
