How to Get a Priest's Goat Today
"Hey, Fadduh - nice pink you're wearin' today!"
(Yeah, yeah, I know it's rose. I can't even do it at my own parish since Father John doesn't even have a rose vestment and instead is opting for the light purple.)
"Fadduh" wore pink today. Why they call it rose is beyond me. Most of the rose vestments I see are pink--perhaps a rose pink, but they are still pink. A true rose color is much darker.
Granted, roses come in many colors, from pink to yellow to violet to white, but the color rose is NEVER pink.
The chasuble I saw today was most assuredly *rose.* It could never be construed as pink. Rose is a gorgeous deep color. I would not say it's manly, but it ain't girly, either.
Here's a nice example of Gaudete rose. No Pepto at Watts and Co London:

Oh how I miss the Sainted Fr. S and our Gaudete ritual....

Heh. That presumes the priest bothers to wear that shade...or even mention "Gaudete Sunday" in his homily.
We got nuthin' today.
At our parish--flaming bright pink!!! Oh, sorry Father, rose!

Pink, rose, what's the difference. Guys just don't get it, or don't care.
