The Vatican's newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a "boast" by a young man grappling with sudden fame.
Huh, well, that's a nice gesture, coming some 28 years after his death, but I am sure John got the message when he went to the afterlife . . . and from The Man, Himself.

Lennon is one of many examples of how an excellent musician and writer becomes so enamoured with himself that he apparently believes that he created the world. While I love many of his songs, I ALWAYS thought that "Imagine" was the epitome of arrogance and self-absorbtion. I agree with you....he now KNOWS the truth...intimately and eternally.
Ironic, isn't it? The very institution he rallied against seeks to bring him peace...even in his eternal rest....
ps...Good to see you and the digi-fam at YOS on Saturday. Why is it that we STILL have not sat down with a pint 'O G together? Could it be all of those cigar breaks Tim and I take between sets?....Hmmmm
