Both parties desperately need the Catholic vote. As the Times points out, Catholics have a record of supporting the winner of the popular vote the past nine presidential cycles. The historical irony nothwithstanding, I for one treasure the position of being the best looking girl at the prom, with eager suitors maneuvering to win our affection.
And thus I hope I speak for the growing movement here at CatholicVote.com when I say to both Republicans and Democrats - If you want our vote, stand for human life, the family, and religious liberty. Inspire us to help the poor and needy. Encourage the fluorishing of our schools, churches, and charities. Keep our country safe, use force when necessary, but be prudent and wise. Catholics are proud Americans, and we are ready to mobilize on behalf of whomever will stand with us. Come and get us.
