Happy Birthday to the Magic Kingdom

On July 17, 1955, Disneyland opened its gates for the first time!

(I would not make the joke if the Gem was not such a lovely woman! As I have met her, I can testify competently to such a fact.)

Gem could not have been there because she was born more than one year later. Maybe her mom was there, but she still would have been just a "twinkle" in her parents eyes, as Gem was most likely conceived in the dead of Winter, although, perphaps she was REALLY there, because it's in writing--and we know it must be true since it's in writing. (I have three million bucks).

ROTFL!! Don't know how I missed that day. As it was on "that blessed day" I Tara beat me to the punch. I'm a mid september baby....the first I came into being was when I was a gleam in my dad's eye that December.

PS Tara wasn't quite yet a gleam in her dad's eye either.

HOWEVER, I *was* two weeks late. The Allentown Fair (an annual BFD event) was going on. Mom rode the Ferris wheel the night before I was born. Apparently I was a bit too comfortable! Nowadays, they wouldn't have let her ride the thing. Good thing she did, I might still be in there!
