I was saddened to hear of the death of American actor, Roy Scheider. My favorite role that he played had to be Sonny "Cloudy" Grasso in The French Connection. I was also fond of a lesser known role he had in the film The Seven-Ups, because it was filmed in the Bronx and one shot had my Dad's car in it.
When I called my brother to tell the news, his immediate comment was, "They're going to need a bigger coffin" - referring, of course, to the famous line from Jaws.
Rest in peace, Roy . . .

I loved his work in Jaws too. Guys like him and Gene Hackman are fav. "types" of mine. The name actor who got there not because of the accidence of mere good looks but the guy who gets roles because of raw talent. You don't see "the guy" you saw the character. RIP
