Aw, Sugar, Honey & Iced Tea

I did not win the $330 million Mega Millions 12-state lottery.

Sorry, Fr. John, I can't pop for a new HVAC system for St. Joseph's. I had this wonderful fantasy that not only would I buy one, I would insist that during the typical August heat waves of Southern California a Mass be said for my personal intentions during which the AC would be cranked so high that parishioners would have to attend wearing parkas . . .

*sigh!*

Is it 12 states now?

I haven't checked my numbers, but I sincerely doubt I won. Ah, and all the things I was going to do with the money...like buy you the house out in Tennessee so you could get moved already... ;-)

Kasia, my husband would have beat you to it!

Ha - not if I won and he didn't! ;-)

Apparently some Wiccan guy won. I have to admit that surprised me. The odds against winning are so astronomical to being with; what were the odds that a Wiccan would win? (As opposed to, say, a Catholic.)

That disappointed me, too, especially since he said he would take up teaching his ideology. Please! People need the truth, not some mish-mosh of New Ageism, witchcraft, and "Goddess Power" ramblings!

However, the odds of a person winning the Mega Million is the same be they Catholic or otherwise. His "gods" did nothing for him.

Well, the odds of any given *individual* winning are the same. My point was that since 25% of the U.S. population is Catholic, and we have no admonition against gambling that I know of (unlike, say, the Baptists), wouldn't th ere be a better chance of a Catholic being the one to win than the probably-less-than-1%-of-the-population Wiccan?

I certainly agree that his "gods" did nothing for him.
